WANTED! SEEKING!
NEEDING . . . .
First published on April 1, 1897, The Hilton Record (Hilton, New York) was a weekly newspaper which, within it’s eight pages, became the “Facebook of its time”.
The stories and news of the Town of Parma, Village of Hilton – and sometimes the surrounding communities – chronicled the history of our area to include its townspeople, businesses, restaurants, and “happenings”.
The Hilton Record is an important part of our history, with our local events running parallel to the world’s timeline. We learn of the development of our community to include why and where buildings were built, our churches and even the families behind the names of our streets.
BUT . . . . we are missing part of our history. The first images of the newspaper start with the December 6, 1906, issue.
Become a treasure hunter! Look in those attics, check those dark basements, uncover and discover history. Help us recover nearly ten years of news and events.
